LOCAL AREA NETWORK (LAN) DESIGN OF STMIK AMIK RIAU USING PACKAGE TRACER

Abstract

Submission of data and information is not yet systematic because it still uses external storage media (flash drives), development of a network system based on LAN (Local Area Network) to assist in the problem of sending data periodically by using network services at STMIK Amik Riau. Using the method of analyzing network systems currently running, designing new systems, designing systems and finally testing network systems that have been designed. The information system used is the Local Area Network (LAN. This network is used to share data and hardware. The LAN design uses a UTP cable connecting media which are interconnected to several computers via a hub, this is to facilitate data communication that takes place there. It is also endeavored that the LAN network can be connected to the internet via a modem with bandwidth sharing so that data usage can be used optimally and according to the needs of the users. With the existence of a Local Area Network (LAN) network, it has many perceived benefits, one of which is the easier delivery of data and information.
